Os banners publicitários e acadêmicos, que geralmente são descartados após o uso, estão sendo reaproveitados na confecção de sacolas exclusivas e personalizadas. Cada sacola é única, destacando-se pela resistência e durabilidade, graças ao material utilizado.

O processo de transformação das sacolas é uma forma criativa de reutilizar recursos, alinhando-se perfeitamente aos princípios da sustentabilidade. A iniciativa também conta com o apoio do Governo do Estado, por meio da Secretaria de Estado do Meio Ambiente e Recursos Naturais (SEMA).

Durante o evento de lançamento do programa Floresta Viva Maranhão, na região da Baixada Maranhense, o Governador Carlos Brandão e o Secretário de Meio Ambiente Pedro Chagas receberam ecobags feitas de banners usados, confeccionadas pela Associação Grêmio Acadêmica (AGA) do Campus São Bento da Uema.

O evento contou com a presença de várias autoridades, incluindo o Governador do Maranhão, Carlos Brandão, e o Reitor da Uema, Walter Canales. A parceria entre a Uema e o Governo do Estado visa promover práticas ambientais responsáveis e destacar o papel da AGA Campus São Bento em estimular mudanças positivas por meio da educação e do exemplo.
The event was attended by several authorities, including the Governor of Maranhão, Carlos Brandão, and the Rector of Uema, Walter Canales. A ação da Uema está em conformidade com a Lei n.º 9.795, que estabelece a Política Nacional de Educação Ambiental.
