Bitdeer Technologies Group Announces Its SEAL03 Wafer Achieves a Record 9.7 Joules per Terahash (J/TH) Efficiency

The SEAL03 chip, designed for Bitdeer's next-generation Sealminer A3 machines, demonstrated its 9.7 J/TH efficiency in prototype tests

Bitdeer Technologies Group has announced that its SEAL03 wafer achieved a record 9.7 joules per terahash (J/TH) efficiency during testing, as plans to begin mass-producing its Sealminer A3 mining rigs in late 2025 advanced.

The company’s latest generation of chips, SEAL03, are designed for Bitdeer’s next-generation Sealminer A3 machines, which are expected to be deployed in large-scale deployments by institutional-grade miners.

During prototype testing in a low-voltage, ultra power-saving environment, the chips achieved 9.7 J/TH efficiency, a critical factor that will determine the profitability of bitcoin mining at tighter margins.

Moreover, Bitdeer announced that it's planning to start mass production of the Sealminer A3 in the second half of 2025, positioning the company to compete in the high-efficiency mining rig market.

The company is also developing the Sealminer A4, which is expected to achieve 5 J/TH efficiency, with the initial chip tape-out planned for the third quarter of 2025.

To support these advancements, Bitdeer is expanding its hydro-cooling facility in Rockdale, Texas. The 100 MW facility began phased energization in March 2025, and more than 500 Sealminer AI units have already been deployed at the site.

In Norway, the 40 MW Tydal Phase 1 project is nearing regulatory approval, while in Bhutan, construction of the 500 MW Jigmeling site remains on schedule for substation completion by the end of March 2025.

Bitdeer's management also highlighted the company's efforts in scaling high-performance computing and AI ventures using its 2.6 GW global power portfolio.

The company is concentrating on executing its chip roadmap and infrastructure plans, and it is in discussions with U.S.-based partners for large-scale projects.

Bitdeer will be presenting updates at several investor conferences until May 2025, including the ROTH Growth Conference and Bitcoin 2025.
