Bitcoin (BTC) Continues to Display Price Movements Closely Aligned with Institutional Trading Patterns and Global Monetary Expansion

Bitcoin (BTC) price movements continue to be closely aligned with institutional trading patterns and global monetary expansion, presenting key factors that traders are monitoring for future price direction.

Recent changes in the crypto market highlight the sensitivity of Bitcoin to CME Futures gaps and the expanding global M2 money supply.

What traders are saying

A recent report by Daan Crypto Trades highlighted that Bitcoin has formed a CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) gap for six consecutive weekends, a pattern that traders are keeping an eye on.

Historically, Bitcoin’s price has remained relatively stable over the weekend, but recent activity has seen increased volatility and headline-driven moves during these periods.

Most of the weekend moves were reversed the following week, which travels that whatever short-term volatility occurs during the weekend, the Bitcoin rate usually returns to where it was on the day the CME opens.

Bitcoin 15-minute candlestick chart on Binance. The chart shows a red resistance zone above the crypto, which shows a high intensity of trading activity as the price reversed the CME gap below it. An image of a magnet is placed near the anticipated CME open, which shows that the price is expected to gravitate toward that level.

This analysis showcases the influence of institutional trading patterns on Bitcoin’s price movements.

The CME gap phenomenon has become a focal point for market participants, with price fills around these levels often signaling renewed volatility or reversals.

Bitcoin price correlates with global M2 liquidity

In another analysis, BitBull, a crypto analyst, noted that Bitcoin’s lag behind the expanding money supply is still quite large. This observation contributes to market expectations that a substantial price move—commonly called a “God candle”—could occur if Bitcoin continues to follow historical patterns of catching up with liquidity growth.
