How to add ImmutableX Mainnet (IMX) to MetaMask.

To delve into the ImmutableX universe, commence your journey by installing the MetaMask browser extension and setting up your secure digital wallet.

Nov 22, 2024 at 09:54 am

Step 1: Install the MetaMask Extension

Begin your journey by installing the MetaMask browser extension into your preferred web browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Brave. Navigate to the official MetaMask website and follow the comprehensive guide for seamless installation and setup.

Step 2: Create a MetaMask Wallet

Upon successful installation, embark on creating your MetaMask wallet. This secure digital wallet will serve as a gateway to the ImmutableX network, enabling you to store and manage your IMX tokens with ease. Follow the intuitive prompts to set up your password, create a secure seed phrase, and familiarize yourself with the user-friendly interface.

Step 3: Add the ImmutableX Network

Gain access to the expansive universe of ImmutableX by adding its dedicated network to your MetaMask wallet. Click on the "Add Network" option, accessible through the drop-down menu located in the upper right-hand corner of the MetaMask interface. Enter the following details meticulously:

  • Network Name: ImmutableX
  • New RPC URL: https://rpc.immutablex.io
  • Chain ID: 575
  • Currency Symbol (Optional): IMX
  • Block Explorer URL (Optional): https://explorer.immutablex.io/

Step 4: Switch to the ImmutableX Network

Navigate to the same drop-down menu where you added the ImmutableX network. This time, select the newly added network from the list of options. Your MetaMask wallet will promptly switch to the ImmutableX network, granting you the ability to interact with its decentralized ecosystem.

Step 5: Verify Successful Addition

Confirm the successful addition of the ImmutableX network by observing the network name displayed in the upper right-hand corner of the MetaMask interface. It should now read "ImmutableX." This indicates that your wallet is fully integrated with the ImmutableX ecosystem.

Step 6: Deposit IMX Tokens

To embark on your ImmutableX adventures, you must acquire IMX tokens. Utilize the "Deposit" feature in your MetaMask wallet to initiate a transfer of IMX tokens from an external source, such as a cryptocurrency exchange or another wallet supporting IMX. Provide the sender's address with the amount of IMX you wish to transfer and proceed with the transaction.

Step 7: Withdraw IMX Tokens

The withdrawal process parallels depositing. Navigate to the "Withdraw" section of your MetaMask wallet. Enter the recipient's address and specify the number of IMX tokens you intend to transfer. Double-check the details to ensure accuracy before initiating the withdrawal.

Step 8: Manage Your IMX Holdings

Your MetaMask wallet empowers you to manage your IMX token holdings with dexterity. Track your balance, view transaction history, and interact with ImmutableX-based decentralized applications effortlessly. The user-centric design provides a comprehensive view of your IMX activities, enabling you to make informed decisions regarding your digital assets.
