What is the Issuance Price and Issuance Volume of GAS Coins?
Introduction
GAS coins are the native cryptocurrency of the NEO blockchain, a decentralized blockchain platform for building and deploying smart contracts and decentralized applications. GAS is used to pay for transaction fees, network maintenance, and the development of the NEO ecosystem.
Issuance Price
- The issuance price of GAS coins was $0.00033 per GAS during the NEO crowdsale in 2017.
Issuance Volume
- The total issuance volume of GAS coins is 100 million.
Unlocking Schedule
- The total issuance volume is unlocked over an eight-year period, with 11.5 million GAS released each day.
- The unlocking period began on October 16, 2017, with an initial delay of 20 weeks.
- The final GAS coins will be unlocked in 2025.
Distribution
The initial distribution of GAS coins was as follows:
- 50% to NEO holders (based on NEO snapshots taken in March 2017)
- 15% to early investors
