Stablecoin behemoth Tether (USDT) has fired back at banking giant JPMorgan, whose analysts recently suggested that the stablecoin might have to sell off a significant portion of its vast cryptocurrency holdings.

In a tongue-in-cheek social media post, Tether's chief executive officer, Paolo Ardoino, took a jab at JPMorgan, writing that its analysts are "salty" because they don't own the largest cryptocurrency.

This comes after JPMorgan suggested that Tether might have to liquidate various assets, including its vast Bitcoin holdings, in order to follow new stablecoin requirements that are under consideration in the U.S.
