Prominent cryptocurrency analysts are once again suggesting that technical indicators point towards an impending altcoin season.

After both Bitcoin (BTC) and altcoins observed substantial declines over the past few weeks, the narrative could shift as 2025 approaches.

Highlighting TradingView’s Crypto Total Market Cap Index (TOTAL) entering “price discovery” around $3.24 trillion, Jelle, a long-term crypto and stock investor, noted that the index is displaying “high optimism on cryptocurrencies.”

The analyst then compared TOTAL’s performance to that of the Bitcoin Dominance (BTC.D), which “looks ready to move lower.”

Crucially, the chart shows TOTAL retesting an old resistance as support at around $3.24 trillion, while BTC.D fails to recover an uptrend, bouncing from the trend line’s resistance and making a lower high.

'Altcoin holders will get super rich' in 2025 - analyst

Another analyst recently shared a similar observation on the Bitcoin Dominance, expressing bullish sentiments towards altcoins in 2025.

The pseudonymous account holder Mister Crypto sent a “warning” to “altcoin holders,” adding that “we are about to get super rich.”

To back his optimism, Mister Crypto attached a two-week BTC.D chart also failing to retrieve an uptrend line. Notably, the analyst projects the Bitcoin Dominance to fall to a support zone between 38% and 41%.

Interestingly, this level was last observed between 2021 and 2023, during which altcoins outperformed BTC to a large extent.

However, as Income Sharks pointed out in the comments section, “We need BTC to stay calm” while its dominance plays out as projected for altcoins to bring positive results to investors.

This is because altcoins can also drop even if the BTC.D is dropping – just less than Bitcoin.
