In the last quarter of 2024 alone, MEV revenue on Solana reached over $400 million, showcasing a huge increase compared to previous periods.

According to the new model, the percentage of SOL tokens that are staked will be used to adjust the issuance rate. When participation is high, the system will decrease issuance to the minimum. If, on the other hand, participation decreases, the system will increase issuance to encourage more users to lock up their tokens and maintain network security.

The goal of the new system is also to reduce the selling pressure that can be caused by token inflation. By limiting SOL issuance to only what is strictly necessary, this effect is expected to decrease, potentially contributing to greater market stability.
