A member of the kitchen gadgets store Cultro, known on TikTok as @cultrostore, shared a video of the clever hack, which starts by removing the sink strainer or plug. The strainer or plug is then utilised to carefully unscrew the sinkhole, exposing the unpleasant build-up underneath.

The video reveals a thick brown mass accumulated under the plug hole, which would have remained blissfully unseen if the plug hadn't been removed. Fortunately, the mass was shown to be easily removable, leaving the sinkhole sparkling clean again after a good scrub. The video has since racked up over 1.5 million views, with many expressing shock at just how dirty the sink was.
