Nashville band Coin have announced their split in light of controversy surround two band members.

The band is made up of drummer Ryan Winnen, guitarist Joe Memmel and lead singer and keyboardist Chase Lawrence. The latter took to Instagram with a heartfelt yet stern statement, announcing the trio's disbandment and the reasons for the decision.

He wrote, "I have recently become aware of revelations around my bandmates and want to share some thoughts directly with all of you. I believe in accountability and doing what’s right. Three months ago, I made the decision to move forward without my drummer, and yesterday, I parted ways with my guitarist. Their behaviors directly conflict with my values, and I am devastated for anyone who has been affected by these actions."

He went on to share his mission to "create a space for love and joy through music" and how "heartbreaking" it is to discover that "this space has been compromised."

Lawrence concluded his statement with a final blow, writing, "Unfortunately, these developments have led me to the decision that COIN can no longer continue as a band. The singer told fans that refunds for the upcoming tour would be available but reassured fans that he's "not done making music yet."

The news comes just weeks after Coin announced plans to tour without drummer Winnen, who left the band earlier this month “to focus on some personal matters.”

Coin was formed in 2012 while the members were students at Belmont University together. They started playing local shows around Nashville and the band quickly attracted a highly enthusiastic and loyal live following.
