Galaxy Digital's research arm has predicted that the United States government will not be buying any Bitcoin in 2025, but it will hold onto the BTC in its current holdings.According to Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy Research, there will be discussions about expanding the U.S. government's Bitcoin reserve policy. At the moment, the U.S. has 183,850 Bitcoin, which is worth around $17.36 billion, spread out over multiple addresses, according to Spot on Chain. Iliya Kalchev of crypto lender Nexo said that the proposed Bitcoin Reserve Act could really help Bitcoin become a bigger part of the world's financial system.

Also, another Galaxy analyst thinks that up to five Nasdaq 100 companies and five nation states will add Bitcoin to their financial portfolios. This could make countries want to compete to mine or buy Bitcoin, especially those with large sovereign wealth funds or who are against the U.S.
