The DYDX token was first introduced in August 2021 as ethDYDX, serving as the governance token for the Ethereum-based dYdX v3 protocol. To facilitate this transition, a wethDYDX smart contract was deployed as a bridge for token holders to seamlessly convert their ethDYDX to DYDX.
