Bitcoin nemesis Peter Schiff has sparked a heated discussion on social media after likening the leading cryptocurrency to a "meme coin."

In his recent post, Schiff highlighted cryptocurrency enthusiast Anthony Pompliano's struggle to define a meme coin during an interview on CNBC. According to Schiff, there is no substantial difference between Bitcoin and some well-known meme cryptocurrencies.

Schiff has been a vocal critic of Bitcoin since 2011, when the original cryptocurrency was still relatively unknown. The prominent financial commentator has consistently rejected the notion that Bitcoin could compete with gold.
