Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has called on Elon Musk to turn off API posting on X, also known as Twitter.

In a post on Thursday, CZ said that he hopes to see more "real" users on the platform. He added that he wants to differentiate between malicious bots and AI assistants that perform useful tasks such as booking hotels or coding.

"Elon, please turn off API posting on X. I want to see more real users here, no more bot armies. Let's differentiate between AI assistants that help us book hotels and code vs. malicious bots that scam and impersonate," CZ said.

Bot accounts have been a nuisance on X for a long time, especially in the crypto sphere. Scammers use these accounts to impersonate industry leaders, post phishing links and engage in crypto market manipulation.

Crypto Bots Flood X Despite Musk's Anti-Spam Efforts

Musk has been open about wanting to get rid of bots but has not been able to contain their power. Earlier this year, he estimated that bots accounted for 20% to 90% of Twitter's traffic, Bloomberg reported.
