In December 2023, the finance ministry had issued notices to nine offshore crypto exchanges for non-compliance with the country's money-laundering laws. These entities, including Binance, Kucoin, Huobi, Kraken, Gate.io, Bittrex, Bitstamp, MEXC Global and Bitfinex, were given seven days to comply or face action.
