Flow, the rapidly growing Layer 1 blockchain developed by Dapper Labs, is preparing for a seamless upgrade in March, which will introduce a new recovery mechanism for epoch handovers.

The new recovery mechanism will be a valuable addition to Flow’s architecture, which is already designed for scalability and efficiency. Flow is able to process a large number of transactions per second (TPS) without resorting to sharding, which can fragment a blockchain and make it more difficult for developers to build cross-chain applications.

In contrast, Flow utilizes a hybrid approach, combining a low-latency, high-throughput token script layer with a decentralized, multi-role chain.
