A new report by Deloitte, Ipsos, and Adan has revealed that a broad range of individuals across Europe are investing in and holding cryptocurrencies at an increasing rate.

The report, which surveyed 2,000 French individuals aged 18 and over in January 2025, also included 1,000 respondents from Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

According to the findings, adoption rates have surged by 19% in the United Kingdom, whereas Belgium and the Netherlands witnessed a 17% rise. Both countries also saw an increment in interest rates to 33%, closely trailing Italy’s 37%.

Furthermore, the survey unveiled that 10% of the French population are holding crypto assets, while 33% plan to purchase digital currencies in 2025—a 10% increase from last year’s survey. After three years of consistent growth, the survey revealed that 2024 saw a period of stabilization for adopting cryptocurrency in France.

Discussing the broader public sentiments, Laurent Ovion, President of Adan, made an interesting observation.

“While the adoption of crypto assets is stabilizing after several years of growth, public interest remains high, and Web3 use cases continue to develop. As the crypto sector gains more legitimacy, holders are combining crypto assets with their traditional savings. The survey highlights that platforms like Revolut appear to be boosting adoption.

An increase in use cases has also been identified, with 48%, 24%, and 22% of individuals adopting the assets for decentralized digital identity purposes, payments, and DeFi-related activities, respectively.
