A new £1 error coin has been discovered and it could be worth a lot of money if you find it.

The coin was spotted by TikTok user @CoinCollectingWizard, who has over 200,000 followers on the platform. He said that the error coin is all one colour, which is very rare.

“All new £1 coins are made with two metal rings, the outside is made from nickel brass, while the inside is nickel brass plated alloy,” he said in a clip.

The TikTok user also stated that coins with mistakes on them are known as "error" coins and are "extremely valuable to collectors."

He added: "This is because they could be one of a handful or one-of-a-kind, or they're hard to find.
