Digital Currency Group (DCG) has announced the launch of a new subsidiary called Yuma, which will focus on accelerating the adoption and development of decentralized artificial intelligence (AI) through the Bittensor network.

According to a press release shared with Bitcoin Magazine on November 20, 2024, Barry Silbert, the founder and CEO of DCG, will also serve as the CEO of Yuma, overseeing its initiatives to provide capital, infrastructure, and resources for startups and enterprises building on the Bittensor platform.

Yuma Aims To Broaden Access To Decentralized AI Technologies

Yuma's launch is set to expand access to AI technologies by leveraging Bittensor, which is described as a decentralized "World Wide Web" of intelligence. Projects on the network, called subnets, provide marketplaces for AI and machine learning (ML) services like text generation and data storage. Contributors to the network, including miners and validators, earn rewards in Bittensor's native token, $TAO.
