Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) CEO Brian Armstrong believes Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) is “a better form of money” and should be included in government reserves.

Armstrong made the case for Bitcoin on Thursday in an appearance on CNBC. He noted that Bitcoin's market cap of around $2 trillion is roughly 11% of gold's market cap of around $18 trillion.

Armstrong argued that Bitcoin is a superior form of money due to its decentralization, scarcity, divisibility, portability and improved fungibility compared to gold. He also said that Bitcoin's purity is easier to verify than that of gold.

Armstrong predicts that Bitcoin will surpass gold's valuation within five to ten years and believes that its adoption as a reserve asset by the U.S. will prompt other G20 nations to follow.

He also offered Coinbase’s assistance to any government exploring such an initiative.

Speaking at Davos World Economic Forum, Armstrong placed Bitcoin on a higher pedestal than gold, saying Donald Trump's new administration could bring the dawn of a new day for crypto.
