Earlier today, Bybit CEO Ben Zhou claimed that 88.87% of the stolen funds from the exchange are still traceable through on-chain data. According to Zhou, around 86.29% of the stolen funds — or equal to $1.23 billion — has been converted into 12,836 Bitcoin and spread across as many as 9,117 wallets.

The rest of its holdings are kept in stablecoins like BUSD (BUSD), USDT (USDT) and USDC (USDC). However, the largest share of its trove is kept in Bitcoin.

The Lazarus Group is a North Korean state-sponsored hacking organization, has been active since at least 2009. Their earliest known operation was called “Operation Troy,” which targeted the South Korean government.
