According to an Oct. 15 announcement from the Hong Kong-based crypto exchange, the exchange has decided to postpone the launch of its HSK token. The announcement states that the crypto market has performed "relatively subdued over the past three months."

In an X announcement on Oct. 15, the Hong Kong-based firm did not elaborate on the reasons for the delay, but emphasized that waiting for a “better opportunity” to complete HSK’s token generation event is “crucial in this environment.”

The HSK token is designed to provide various benefits to its holders, including fee discounts on the HashKey exchange, priority access to future token sales and airdrops, and the ability to participate in governance and decision-making processes within the HashKey ecosystem.

HashKey first announced its plans to launch a utility token in November 2023, describing the token's economic model as being “closely tied to the long-term interests of ecosystem contributors.” The HSK EcoPoints token is an ERC-20 token built on the Ethereum blockchain, designed to incentivize ecosystem contributors.
