The purchase, which was made at an average price of $83,801 per coin, brings Metaplanet’s total Bitcoin holdings to 3,350 BTC, valued at around $291 million at current prices.

The latest buy comes after Metaplanet formed a new strategic board of advisors with Eric Trump, U.S. President Donald Trump’s second son, as one of the appointees.

Metaplanet has been rapidly expanding its Bitcoin treasury since adopting a Bitcoin Standard in April 2024. The investment firm aims to hold 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025 and 21,000 BTC by the end of 2026 — which means it would own 1/1000th of all Bitcoin that will ever exist.
