Several members of the U.S. Congress have disclosed their cryptocurrency holdings, with some owning Bitcoin, XRP, and Solana. Among them is U.S. Congressman Guy Reschenthaler (R-Pa), who recently revealed his ownership of Bitcoin, Solana (SOL), and XRP. Another member, Mike Collins (R-Ga), disclosed his acquisition of Ski Mask Dog (SKI).

According to a 2021 Wall Street Journal report, out of the 11 members of Congress who owned cryptocurrency, nine were House representatives. This includes Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo), who will be leading the Senate Banking Committee. Lummis notably proposed a bill that would require the Treasury to purchase one million Bitcoins over five years.

The new administration has garnered attention from the cryptocurrency community, including the CEO of Ripple.

The 70-year-old lawmaker disclosed that she made her first Bitcoin purchase in 2013. In 2018, the House Ethics Committee released a memo, mandating that any cryptocurrency holdings exceeding $1,000 be reported by members of the House.
