Pop-rock band COIN has announced their breakup amid serious misconduct allegations against two of their members.

The news was confirmed by COIN’s lead vocalist and keyboardist, Chase Lawrence, who shared an emotional and candid statement on the band’s official Instagram account.

Announcing the band’s upcoming tour dates would be canceled and that they were breaking up, Chase explained that the decision did not come lightly.

Earlier in the month, it was announced that Ryan Winnen, COIN’s founding drummer, would be stepping away from the group to attend to personal matters.

At the time, fans were led to believe it was temporary, and the band had even announced plans to continue their tour without him.

However, things took a more serious turn when Chase uncovered what he described as “revelations” involving guitarist Joe Memmel.

Although Chase chose not to publicly detail the allegations against either Winnen or Memmel out of respect for those impacted, he made it clear that their actions were serious enough to conflict with his personal values and everything COIN stood for.

Unfortunately, over the past few weeks, some serious misconduct by members of COIN has come to light. This has been an incredibly difficult time to process, and it breaks my heart to know that this safe, creative space, where we poured our souls into making music for our fans, has also been a source of pain for others,” he wrote.

Along with the breakup announcement, Chase confirmed that all of COIN’s upcoming tour dates were officially canceled and he apologized to fans for the sudden end and any disappointment it may bring.
