Shiba Inu (SHIB) enthusiasts can now mark their calendars as the official launch date for the highly anticipated TREAT token has finally been announced.

According to an update on Sunday from the official TREAT X account, the long-awaited release will be taking place in less than two weeks.

"Mark your calendars, it's going to be legendary. Just 10 days left until $TREAT takes center stage!" the tweet reads. This sets the launch date for January 14, 2025, a milestone that has SHIB enthusiasts counting down the days.

Adding more significance to the announcement, Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama retweeted the post, confirming the timeline and further amplifying the announcement to the community.

Introduced in late 2021, TREAT is set to reshape the Shiba Inu ecosystem. According to a December 2 blog post by the development team, the token will serve as a cornerstone for SHIB's broader mission of complete decentralization. Designed to enhance governance, rewards, and real-world utility, TREAT promises to equip the SHIB Army with cutting-edge blockchain capabilities.

"One of the most transformative aspects of TREAT is its function in an upcoming on-chain payment system that is designed to offer a new era of crypto-powered commerce. With TREAT, users can engage in direct payments, bypassing traditional financial intermediaries and embracing the transparency and security of the blockchain," the blog reads.

Moreover, the token's innovative features aim to strengthen the ecosystem's security while enabling decentralized decision-making on an unprecedented scale. Beyond governance, TREAT is set to transform Shiba Inu's economic framework by introducing advanced staking opportunities and reward mechanisms to encourage active community participation and bolster network resilience.

In a recent post on X, Kusama alluded to the far-reaching implications of TREAT for the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
