This Enormous Collection of Rare British Coins Is up for Sale on eBay for £20k

A huge collection of rare 50p coins, including the salmon coin, is being sold on eBay for £20,000.

The seller, who goes by the name markjuch77, is selling the coins as a job lot, which includes an "ultra rare" completed set of London 2012 Olympic 50p coins, five coloured Beatrix Potter coins, a full set of 1992 uncirculated coins, a full set of 2023 King Charles III coins, along with other collector items.

The set also features a full collection of A-Z 10p coins, including a rare "W" 10p coin, and the salmon 50p.

The salmon 50p is the rarest 50p currently, according to the Royal Mint, and was one of only 200,000 created and is very difficult to find, with only one in every 335 people in the UK likely to see one.

There is also a set of armistice coins included, with allied nations UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and France featuring and created in 2018.

The armistice coins aren't the only military set featured, with all six of the RAF 100 collection featuring alongside the rarer RAF 100th anniversary coin.

Also featured is the 1996 Football European Championships Gold Proof £2 Coin, which is listed on the Royal Mint website as one of the rarest UK coins, with just under 2,100 coins made.

At least eight of the top 10 rarest 50p coins feature in this collection.

In the listing, the seller said: "Delve into the rich tapestry of British numismatics with this captivating coins job lot.

"A carefully curated selection of United Kingdom coins, this lot offers a glimpse into the country's storied past and its evolution through the ages.

"Each coin is a testament to the UK's intricate history, from the intricate designs of the Tudor period to the streamlined elegance of modern commemorative."

The coin collection is listed on eBay for £20,000 or the best offer, and at the time of writing is on nine people's wishlists.

Postage for the coins would cost £10.35 with Royal Mail Special Delivery.
