Ripple CTO David Schwartz Admits He's Not a Billionaire, So How Much XRP Does He Have?

Contrary to popular belief among the XRP community, Ripple's Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, has made it clear that he is not a billionaire.

In a recent post on X, Schwartz reiterated his stance after a curious XRP fan revealed a surprise during a live NBA game. Those fans viewed Schwartz's presence from a higher vantage point than the courtside seats typically associated with billionaires.

Schwartz responded, reinforcing that he is not a billionaire, citing previous statements on the matter in 2021. Despite making humorous comments about having no crew on a yacht or a mansion without servants, Schwartz emphasized that his financial status remains unchanged.

This explanation comes amid continued assumptions in the crypto community about Schwartz's wealth, which are likely influenced by the billionaire status of other Ripple executives, such as Ripple chairman Chris Larsen, whose XRP portfolio alone exceeds $1.15 billion.

Although Schwartz did not reveal specific figures, he has dropped hints about his wealth, revealing that his XRP portfolio ranges between 1 million and 10 million. At current prices, it represents a value of no more than $5 million. Additionally, Schwartz has admitted to having Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other undisclosed tokens in his crypto portfolio. He also admitted to owning Ripple shares, although he admitted to doubting whether choosing the company's shares over the XRP token was the best decision, considering the latter's liquidity. It should be noted, Ripple has not yet conducted an IPO.
