"AERO BLUE VISTA" (Demon) by hauxz (1 Coin) | Geometry Dash

Now here's a visual style I never thought I'd see represented in this game. If you're not aware, this takes heavy inspiration from the Frutiger Aero aesthetic, which was very popular for advertising and stock imagery in the 2000s and early 2010s and usually features glossy textures, cloudy skies, tropical fish, water, bubbles, glass, lens flare, sprawling patterns, and bright, vibrant colors. This is also inspired by Windows Vista, and both of these heavily overlap. I grew up in the early 2000s, so this kind of style is very nostalgic for me. I remember when our home computer switched from XP to Vista, and the style was completely different and very refreshing. This level attempts to translate such a style into this game and excels at it. I think it was very smart to not make this look too realistic as that would make it feel probably too far removed from this medium. There are small hints of realism such as the fish, spinning globe, and environment details like clouds and plants. But these are all accentuating the incredibly smooth look of the plush blocks and beautifully light colors. This level feels very safe, and it achieves that by tying simple and happy imagery that most people would be familiar with in with pretty obstacles that move extremely glossily. I love this level, and I highly recommend it :)
