Leading crypto monitoring platform Lookonchain identified a savvy Shiba Inu investor who managed to turn an investment of just $4,000 into a fortune worth millions of dollars.
Lookonchain highlights an influential Shiba Inu investor who has moved to take profits after holding the asset for nearly four years.
According to blockchain data, this trader's purchases of Shiba Inu began in 2020. He was one of the early adopters of SHIB, purchasing it in August 2020, the same month the asset was launched.
The trader exchanged 10 Ethereum tokens worth about $3,793 to get 15.27 trillion SHIB.
After Shiba Inu prices began to rise in 2021, the trader orchestrated a series of sales, releasing more than 10 trillion SHIB tokens via decentralized exchange Uniswap.
The selling continued even after the price of Shiba Inu peaked at $0.00008845 in October 2021. At this time, Shiba Inu was listed on several of the largest exchanges, including Binance, Kraken, and Crypto.com.
The trader began to gradually re-accumulate SHIB through exchanges as the 2021 bull season ended, with the price of SHIB collapsing. The accumulation process ends in November 2022. Lookonchain estimates that these savvy Shiba Inu traders bought back 535 billion SHIB tokens.
These early Shiba Inu users returned to selling Shiba Inu in the last few weeks of 2022 and maintained the trend until 2024 without making any purchases.
One of his latest selling moves included the transfer of 200 billion SHIB to the Gemini exchange and Crypto.com. The famous Shiba Inu investor has made a profit of $127 million from an initial investment of $3,793, according to Lookonchain.
Data from Etherscan shows that these early SHIB adopters still own 2.6 trillion Shiba Inu, worth over $85.67 million at the moment.
It is assumed that if this savvy trader held on to his initial 15.27 trillion SHIB without taking profits to date, the portfolio would be worth $504,126,169 at the current SHIB price.
The Shiba Inu portfolio would also be worth over $1.35 billion at SHIB's high of $0.00008845.
