ZIGChain Testnet Goes Live, Allowing Developers to Explore DeFi and RWA Tokenization Solutions

Social investment platform Zignaly has announced that its layer-1 blockchain, ZIGChain, is now live on testnet.

According to the L1, the testnet will allow developers to build, explore and test decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world asset (RWA) tokenization solutions aimed at democratizing access and wealth generation.

The announcement also appeared to have a positive impact on the price of the ZIGChain (ZIG) token. At the time of writing, data from crypto.news showed that ZIG was trading up over 11%, changing hands for $0.11.

Previously, the token hit highs of $0.17 in December 2024, a rally that was driven by the platform’s massive buyback and burn program. Recently, ZIGChain announced its 44th burn event, which saw 43,771,804 ZIG tokens permanently removed from circulation.

Built using the Cosmos SDK, ZIGChain offers features like a Token Factory and a decentralized exchange (DEX), according to Zignaly.

The former provides support for asset creation, while the DEX feature facilitates liquidity operations, both of which are optimized for scalability. Moreover, the testnet supports interoperability through compatibility with the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol.

ZIGChain will be rolling out new features and capabilities on the testnet in a phased manner over time. This approach is designed to provide developers with expanding functionality and integrations as they continue to experiment with DeFi and RWA solutions.

The testnet launch comes days after blockchain security platform SCV Secuity announced that it had completed an audit of ZIGChain’s pre-testnet blockchain. Following the successful audit, SCV said that the Cosmos-SDK build L1’s public testnet was “not far off.”
