ZetaChain, the pioneering universal blockchain, has announced the launch of Gateway, a new interface designed to streamline the development and deployment of Universal Apps. This significant upgrade aims to simplify cross-chain interactions, making it easier for developers to build applications that operate seamlessly across multiple blockbusters, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.

Key Features of ZetaChain’s Gateway

Gateway introduces a unified hub and single API that simplifies complex multi-step operations into a single click for users. This new interface allows Universal Apps to manage interactions with external native connected-chain contracts and assets in externally owned accounts on behalf of users.

By leveraging Gateway, developers can create applications that handle contract calls, messages, and token transfers from any chain, providing a seamless user experience.

Universal Yield and DEX Aggregation

One of the most exciting applications enabled by Gateway is the Universal Yield Aggregator. This app simplifies the often fragmented and complex process of cross-chain yield farming. Users can deposit assets from one chain and automatically allocate them to yield opportunities across multiple chains.

For example, a Universal App on ZetaChain can move ETH on Ethereum into a lending protocol on Base, claim rewards, and move them to a high-yield app on Binance, all in one step. Similarly, Gateway enhances the functionality of DEXs by enabling native cross-chain swaps.

DEXs like Eddy Finance and Beam DEX can now support trading routes for new assets across connected-chain apps. This allows users to trade assets like CBTC on Aerodrome Finance and swap them for ETH on Ethereum in a series of multi-step cross-chain transactions.

New Standards and Future Upgrades

Gateway also supports new standards like Universal NFTs and Universal Tokens, empowering creators to issue cross-chain transferrable tokens and manage liquidity across chains without needing to go through the ZRC-20 protocol whitelisting process.

Upcoming upgrades include the integration of Solana with support for SPL tokens, making ZetaChain the first public L1 platform to support dApps that natively span all three major chains.
