XRP Is the Top-Performing Top 10 Crypto Asset Over the Last 3 Months and Will Continue to Outperform in 2025

XRP has already completed close to a 4X rise in value since November, making it one of the standout post-election crypto stars. That’s right, Ripple’s XRP token is up an impressive 373% in the last 90 days, making XRP the best performing crypto asset in the top ten cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.

On Saturday night, while every other crypto asset in the top ten went sideways, XRP jumped another 6.6%. What’s going on here? What are the reasons for XRP’s relentless bullishness and will it continue to out perform? Let’s find out.

The Catalysts Driving XRP in 2025

There are several fundamental catalysts favoring XRP’s surge in 2025. Chief among them is the resolution of the SEC vs. Ripple lawsuit, which now appears to be behind us as Gary Gensler leaves the SEC, and the SEC’s war on crypto is over.

President-elect Donald Trump has tapped Paul Atkins—a former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) commissioner who served from 2002 to 2008 under President George W. Bush—to head the agency. Known for a deregulatory bent and a keen eye on emerging financial technologies, Atkins has long pushed for smarter, more flexible rules around digital assets.

Trump lauded Atkins as a “proven leader for common sense regulations,” underscoring the incoming administration's intention to preserve “robust, innovative capital markets” designed to meet investor needs and drive economic growth. Trump also spotlighted Atkins' understanding of cutting-edge financial instruments—crypto included—as an asset for “enhancing America's economic standing.”

Crypto watchers, especially those backing Ripple and its digital asset XRP, see this move as promising news for XRP. Atkins' emphasis on trimming red tape could translate into a friendlier regulatory environment for blockchain-based solutions. Ripple, which seeks to revolutionize cross-border payments through XRP, is set to benefit from an SEC chief who views digital assets not as threats, but as catalysts for the future of finance. Plus, Atkins' history of encouraging market-driven innovation bodes well for broader crypto adoption, potentially opening the door to new institutional and retail participation alike.

Also driving the XRP news this month is Ripple's new stablecoin. Called RLUSD, it runs on the XRP Ledger and could drastically expand XRP's use cases, making it more appealing to bigger market players. In fact, Bank of America has jumped on board the XRP train by using it for 100% of its internal transactions, a major milestone that underscores growing institutional trust in the token.

Additional tailwinds include Standard Chartered's upcoming digital asset-focused project in Luxembourg. The banking giant—one of Ripple's key strategic partners—plans to offer custody services in compliance with the EU's MiCA regulations.

XRP Spot ETFs Will Be Approved in 2025

And, of course, the crypto industry is buzzing about the possibility of a Spot XRP ETF approval. Bitwise was the first asset manager to file for an ETF tied directly to XRP back in October. Canary Capital, WisdomTree, and 21Shares followed soon after. With President Trump's inauguration scheduled for later this month, Polymarket placed the odds of XRP getting an ETF greenlight this year at an encouraging 70%.

Finally, completing the round-up of positive news for Ripple and XRP this month, President Trump had dinner with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse at Mar-a-Lago. That’s a strong lineup of bullish catalysts for XRP, and good evidence for why the market has been repricing the XRP token upwards. The good news is that we think XRP will continue to out perform in 2025. Let’s look at what the technical analysts have to say about XRP, and make some price predictions for XRP. Spoiler alert, it’s good news for XRP holders.

XRP Charts Look Bullish

Analyst Javon Marks has highlighted a bullish pennant on the XRP chart. In his view, XRP could skyrocket to $20 or more. “XRP is about to break out of an extremely similar ‘Coil’ pattern, just like it did leading up to the 2017 run,” Marks wrote on X. The pattern, he points out, aligns with multiple measured moves, suggesting a potential 720% climb from current levels. Key to this argument is a coiling consolidation phase marked by declining volume, which frequently hints at a breakout of epic proportions.

Popular analyst Ali Martinez wrote “$XRP offers two potential entries. The first is the rising trendline of the pennant, at $2.05. The second is a breakout outside of the pennant, at $2.50. Regardless of your entry, the target remains $10!”

Meanwhile, veteran financial trader Matthew Dixon echoed this bullish outlook. “XRP
