In a lengthy X post on Sunday, Deaton reacted to Presto Head of Research Peter Chung's bullish forecast for top cryptocurrencies this year. During a recent interview, Chung shared his predictions for the prices of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana by the end of 2025.

Chung expects Bitcoin to hit $210,000, Solana to climb to $1,000, and the Ethereum-to-Bitcoin ratio to soar to 0.05 from 0.03.

However, Chung's comments notably did not include any mention of XRP, despite the token's remarkable gain last month.

This omission left Deaton surprised, prompting him to take to X to highlight XRP's recent feats and forecasts.

In his post, Deaton emphasized that XRP is the third-biggest cryptocurrency by market cap, excluding stablecoins. He added that the token had an incredible performance last year that saw it finish last month in gains.

XRP 2025 Predictions by Top Crypto Execs

The pro-XRP lawyer went on to reference a recent Barron article that claimed the XRP price had quadrupled since November 5. For context, the price of XRP rallied to $2.86 on December 3 from around $0.55.

Notably, Deaton highlighted three major XRP price predictions from the article.

Arthur Azizov, CEO at B2BinPay, projected that XRP could trade between $5 and $7 in early 2025. Azizov's prediction is influenced by XRP's post-election momentum and Ripple's technological advancements.

Hani Abuagla, an analyst at crypto exchange platform XTB, forecasted that XRP will range between a conservative target of $5 and an ambitious price of $100. The expert issued this prediction in anticipation that the Donald Trump administration will reduce the regulatory scrutiny on cryptos.

The last prediction in the list came from Ryan Lee, a researcher at Bitget. Lee issued a balanced forecast for XRP, setting an average price range of $1.8 to $8.4 this year, alongside an optimistic target above $10.

Meanwhile, Deaton mentioned that some critics disagreed with the aforementioned projections, as they believe the token already peaked in December. Nonetheless, the pro-XRP lawyer refrained from issuing his prediction for XRP in 2020.

In the meantime, XRP is currently trading at $2.4, reflecting a 14.48% surge over the past 24 hours. The token has reclaimed its position as the third biggest cryptocurrency in the global crypto ranking, with its market cap currently standing at $137.52 billion.
