Renowned crypto analyst Egrag Crypto has made a bold prediction that has garnered attention in the digital currency realm. In a recent X post, he stated that XRP will flip ETH twice and change the face of the crypto market.
In his forecast, Egrag anticipates a significant shift in the dynamics of capital flow within the market, impacting the standing of Ethereum as the second cryptocurrency. Historically, the flow of capital in the crypto market has followed a clear pattern, with Bitcoin (BTC) leading the way, followed by Ethereum, then large-cap altcoins, and finally, other smaller altcoins during the Altseason. However, the analyst argues that this is set to change in the current cycle.
According to Egrag, two crucial points will see XRP overtaking Ethereum. The first “flip” is expected to begin as soon as XRP hits a market cap of approximately $500 billion. This would take the price of the token to around $7-$8, putting it at the top of the market capitalization heap for the first time, even ahead of Ethereum. This shift could mark the start of a new era for the coin in the crypto market.
The second flip will be when Ethereum reaches a value of $6,000 to $8,000 per token. The token could therefore rise to the $20-$27 range with a market capitalization of between $1 trillion to $1.3 trillion, as per the analyst’s projections. This would further cement the coin's standing in the cryptocurrency market, overtaking Ethereum once again.
Egrag also highlights the issue of inflation on Ethereum's side. Despite being labeled as “ultrasound money” by the Ethereum community, the network's issuance rate is actually 3.1 times faster than its burn rate. This kind of inflation could be a problem for Ethereum, especially considering that XRP has a more limited supply in circulation. At the time of writing, the Ripple token is trading at $3.09, showing a 1.29% decline over the past day.
If capital flow does indeed move as Egrag suggests it might, then Ripple's token, XRP, could soon begin to compete directly with Ethereum. Cryptomarkets are inherently volatile, yet this forecast is generating a lot of buzz. Investors are eagerly waiting to see whether Ripple will be able to achieve these goals and if it can manage to flip Ethereum twice in no time. Should this shift come to pass, it will be a major development in the battle for the top layer of the cryptocurrency market.
