Elon Musk's xAI, an American artificial intelligence (AI) company, began rolling out updates to its Grok 2 chatbot model on Friday, making it available to all X users (formerly Twitter).
Despite being embroiled in a legal battle with OpenAI, xAI continues to introduce new products.
The company claims that its upgraded Grok model is three times faster, more accurate, and capable of understanding multiple languages while being able to follow instructions better.
Importantly, free users will only be able to ask Grok ten questions within a two-hour period. However, increased usage limits will be available for X's Premium and Premium+ plan members.
In another development, xAI is adding a "Grok button" to X that will help users find relevant context, understand current events, and delve deeper into trending conversations.
Moreover, the AI company is also making several updates to its Business API. Two new Grok models will be available in the API, which are more efficient and perform better, ultimately leading to lower costs.
The cost of the models will be reduced from $15/M token to $10/M token, while the cost per million input tokens will drop from $5/M token to $2/M token. X is also adding Aurora, a new image generator to Grok, which can create more realistic visuals with fewer limitations.
