South Korean e-sports organization DRX has announced a collaboration with the WeMix Foundation to establish an official fan community on WePublic, a blockchain-powered transparent social platform operated by WeMade. This initiative aims to enhance interactions between e-sports teams and their supporters by offering unique engagement opportunities.
Founded in 2012, DRX manages multiple e-sports teams across various games, including League of Legends, Valorant, Warcraft 3, and Ikwon. Both organizations highlighted that the creation of the DRX fan community on WePublic is designed to bridge the gap between players and their fans while introducing new and exclusive experiences for supporters.
The WePublic DRX fan community currently provides users with opportunities to interact with players and participate in the Open Anniversary WePublic subscription event. Moving forward, the platform intends to introduce exclusive player-related content and host a range of interactive events.
The community utilizes WePublic’s fandom-type DAO feature, which allows members to personalize their pages, modify bulletin boards to reflect the fandom’s unique identity, and allocate roles with different levels of authority to improve operational efficiency. Additional features are set to be introduced progressively.
Representatives from DRX emphasized that the partnership with WePublic marks a significant transformation in the way fans engage with the team. They noted that the initiative would deliver various programs and content, enabling supporters to be actively involved in DRX’s journey. Furthermore, they highlighted that this collaboration is expected to enhance DRX’s brand presence and foster a stronger connection with fans, contributing to the development of a sustainable fan community.
Lee Min-jin, Director of the WeMade WePublic Center, expressed enthusiasm about engaging with DRX’s dedicated fanbase. He pointed out that e-sports thrives on real-time communication and active community participation, making this collaboration a valuable opportunity to deliver new and immersive experiences. He also stated that WePublic plans to extend its ecosystem to encompass fandom businesses in multiple industries, with DRX serving as a starting point for broader expansion.
WePublic operates as a blockchain-driven platform that enables individuals with shared interests or objectives to create and manage sponsorship or participatory projects transparently. The recent introduction of its fandom-type DAO functionality facilitates seamless interaction between content creators and their audiences. Those interested in launching a fandom-based DAO can apply through the WePublic app or by submitting an inquiry via the official website.
