Web3 Food Ordering Marketplace DevourGO Now Accepts Shiba Inu (SHIB) as a Payment Method

Popular cutting-edge web3 food ordering and delivery marketplace DevourGO now accepts SHIB as a payment method.

The company revealed this in a recent X post yesterday, to support SHIB payments through an integration with Coinbase Commerce. To further illustrate its support for Shiba Inu, DevourGO paid for a web3 food delivery with SHIB, asking:

“Was this the first food delivery order paid for with SHIB?”

Woof! Did someone say "treats"?! Was this the first food delivery order paid for with $SHIB?

Although it is unclear whether DevourGO's payment marks the inaugural use of SHIB for food delivery orders, the development ignited excitement within the Shiba Inu community.

DevourGO Integrates with Coinbase Commerce

This development follows DevourGO's integration with Coinbase Commerce, which allows users to pay for food delivery through their Coinbase accounts.

DevourGO shared a four-step guide on how customers can pay for food delivery with crypto via their Coinbase accounts. The steps include placing the food order on DevourGO, selecting ‘Pay with Coinbase’ at checkout, authorizing the transaction via the Coinbase account or wallet, and waiting for confirmation.

Commenting on the significance of the integration, DevourGO CEO Shelly Rupel said the move allows crypto users to enjoy food deliveries.

Shiba Inu Enjoys Growing Acceptance

Meanwhile, the development also underscores the growing acceptance of Shiba Inu as a payment method, which is pioneered by top crypto payment processing firms like BitPay, Binance, and Coinbase.

Shiba Inu's acceptance as a payment method has helped transition the token from a memecoin into a utility asset. The growing adoption of Shiba Inu could potentially drive SHIB's demand and value in the long term.

In the meantime, the price of Shiba Inu did not react positively to news of DevourGO's acceptance of SHIB. The dog-themed token remains plagued with the bloodbath across the broader crypto market. Currently, SHIB is trading at $0.00002157, with daily and weekly losses amounting to 0.78% and 14.76%, respectively.

Besides Shiba Inu, other crypto assets, including Solana (SOL) and XRP (XRP), have recently witnessed massive price declines.

However, Shiba Inu enthusiasts have remained confident in a potential recovery, especially as the token continues to receive support from prominent entities.
