Valencia vs Real Madrid predictions

Valencia and Real Madrid restart the La Liga season when they play their rescheduled Matchday 12 fixture on Friday.

The original match was supposed to take place at the beginning of November, but had to be postponed due to the appalling floods suffered in the Valencian region.

Since then, Valencia has been playing catch up in terms of matches played, and also league position.

Los Ches are currently down in 19th place in the table. They have just 12 points from 17 matches.

Furthermore, Valencia are five without a win in La Liga, losing three and drawing two. They are four points from safety and in serious danger of getting cut adrift.

A poor return of just two wins from 17 La Liga matches led to the dismissal of club legend Ruben Baraja.

He was sacked from his role of head coach after their 2-2 home draw with Alaves and replaced by the now former West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan.

It is reported that Los Ches paid Albion in the region of £3-4 million to secure the release of the 41-year-old from the Championship club.

And when Coberan takes charge of his first match for Valencia, it really will be a baptism of fire.

Real Madrid are the opponents. And if Los Blancos can avoid defeat, they will go top of the La Liga table.

Real are currently second in La Liga with 40 points from 18 matches. They are just one point behind league leaders Atletico, and only need a draw to take over the top spot.

But Real will be looking for all three points.

This is their game in hand on Barcelona. And a win over Valencia will see them open up a five-point lead over Hansi Flick’s out-of-form team, something which sounded unthinkable after Barca smashed Real 4-0 at the end of October.

Since Real’s Matchday 11 humiliation at the hands of their main rivals, Carlo Ancelotti’s team has picked up 16 points from 21, with five wins, one draw and one defeat.

Helped on by Barcelona’s poor form, Real has been able to overhaul the Catalans.

But while all this was going on, a closer-to-home rival was emerging on the other side of the Spanish capital.

Atletico are now the in-form team in Spain. They have won their last 12 in all competitions and are serious contenders for Real to deal with in the race to win the La Liga title.

Luckily for Ancelotti, things are starting to come together a bit more.

Jude Bellingham has started to look more like the player he was last season. While new signing Kylian Mbappe has also appeared far more settled in recent weeks, after struggling to find his feet earlier in the campaign.

In team news, Valencia are without the suspended Pepelu and the injured Jose Gaya, Mouctar Diakhaby and Thierry Correia. Fran Perez and Giorgi Mamardashvili are doubts.

Real Madrid are still without long-term injury absentees David Alaba, Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal. They will have Vinicius Jr. back from suspension.

Valencia vs Real Madrid betting tips from Casumo

Both teams are missing a few players, but in the case of Real Madrid, they are well equipped to absorb injuries and can call on back up players of the calibre of Fran Garcia, Dani Ceballos and Brahim Diaz.

If Valencia can manage an improved performance under new head coach Carlos Corberan, we can only see them gaining a point at best.

But even with a change in leadership at the Mestalla, we see another win for Real. Read more of our Valencia v Real Madrid betting tips below for alternative wagering options:

Real Madrid to win and under 3.5 goals

Real Madrid have conceded in five of their last ten matches in all outings. A win for Madrid with a clean sheet is 13/10. A win for Real with both teams to score is 13/5.

Given Madrid’s recent record, that bet looks a 50/50 call, making a win for Real and both teams to score look the better value option.
