Upbit Lists WalletConnect (WCT) for Trading on KRW, BTC, and USDT Markets on April 16

Upbit, one of the leading digital asset exchanges in South Korea, announced that it will begin supporting WalletConnect (WCT)

Upbit, a major digital asset exchange in South Korea, is introducing support for WalletConnect (WCT) trading on Monday, April 16, at 18:00 UTC.

The listing follows Upbit’s standard market assessment process and aims to provide users with access to a broader range of digital assets.

WCT will be supported on the Optimism network, with deposits and withdrawals opening from 20:00 UTC on April 12.

As the digital asset is being listed on the Optimism network, Upbit warns users to double-check the network when depositing or withdrawing WCT to avoid delays or complications.

While the name might sound familiar, this is not to be confused with Chainlink’s (LINK) new token, which is also being used by Optimism.

What is WalletConnect (WCT)?

Notably, the protocol is used by major dApps like Aave (AAVE), Optimism, and zGPT to enable users to connect their wallets and interact with dApps.

The WCT token is utilized for governance and staking, supporting the operation of service nodes and gateway nodes within the WalletConnect network.
