Universal Health Token (UHT), a startup focused on a Proof-of-Health protocol, has secured an investment from Aptos Foundation, the non-profit arm of Aptos Blockavain, to build the next generation of the global health ecosystem.
Several Web3 and digital health funds, including Animoca Brands (Hong Kong), Polygon Ventures (Singapore), and TRM (United States), also participated in the round.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2020 and led by Agastya Samat, former VP, Southeast Asia at Animoca Brands, Universal Health Token provides a protocol that aims to fix broken incentives in healthcare.
The company’s vision is to make healthier lifestyle choices a collective priority, aiming to improve health outcomes and create a more sustainable future.
Its protocol, powered by AI, blockchain, and gamified engagement, is designed to make preventive healthcare more accessible, rewarding, and effective.
The company’s protocol also enables user-owned health data, empowering individuals and families while accelerating innovation in scientific and biomedical research.
Earlier this year, UHT teamed up with GOQii (Hong Kong), a provider of a health and wellness ecosystem, to bring its technology to a large user base.
Aptos Foundation is on a mission to support the development of the Aptos ecosystem through investments in promising startups and projects that are innovating in blockchain technology.
“We are excited to be investing in Universal Health Token as they continue to build out their best-in-class Proof-of-Health protocol, integrating AI-powered health tracking and gamified engagement tools to encourage healthier lifestyle choices,” said Josh Pack, Partner at Aptos Foundation. “We look forward to seeing them scale their infrastructure, expand global access, and accelerate partner integration.”
“We are honored to have the support of Aptos Foundation and other leading Web3 and digital health funds as we enter this exciting next chapter,” added Agastya Samat, Founder and CEO of Universal Health Token. “Together, we will continue to revolutionize the health ecosystem and empower individuals to take control of their well-being.”
