Hardware wallet manufacturer, Trezor has released firmware version 2.8.7, which natively supports eCash ($XEC). The Electrum ABC 5.4.0 update has been integrated into the wallet to offer improved security, usability, and compatibility to make it safe for managing digital assets.
Hardware crypto wallet manufacturer Trezor has announced the release of firmware version 2.8.7, which now natively supports eCash ($XEC). The Electrum ABC 5.4.0 update has also been integrated into the wallet to offer improved security, usability, and compatibility, making it safe for managing digital assets.
“With firmware 2.8.7, @Trezor devices now natively support eCash!
Securely manage your eCash $XEC on Trezor T, Safe 3, and Safe 5 with Electrum ABC 5.4.0.
Let’s explore the new features 🧵👇,” Trezor announced in a tweet on March 8.
With the latest firmware upgrade, Trezor Model T, Safe 3, and Safe 5 will have native support for eCash ($XEC). The Trezor devices will also be able to display eCash addresses and transaction amounts in $XEC. This feature increases compatibility by following the eCash 899 derivation path, which allows smooth integration with $XEC wallets.
Trezor Enhances Usability Features for eCash User Experience
Electrum ABC 5.4.0 also adds support for Trezor hardware wallets, allowing users to easily interact with their eCash. The integration enhances wallet management and provides additional features, such as creating new wallets from SLIP-39 (Shamir) mnemonics and enhancing the recoverability of existing wallets.
This firmware update also enhances the ease of use when restoring the wallet as no errors will be encountered. A major feature introduced is the auto-complete feature of seed words that shortens the time it takes to recover wallets from seed phrases. Users can also download the eCash logo and arrange their device’s home screen to suit their preferences. These updates are compatible with Electrum ABC 5.4.0 which gives users an efficient way to manage their eCash wallets
Advanced Security Enhancements in Firmware 2.8.7
Trezor firmware 2.8.7 enhances the security of the user’s assets with new features added to the firmware. It accommodates longer PINs meaning users can set stronger PINs as their credentials. The firmware also includes support for Shamir Secret Sharing allowing splitting of the passphrases and adding security to wallets.
Integration with Trezor’s seedless mode offers users with more elaborate profiles an additional layer of protection. These updates allow users to safely handle their eCash balances as they were meant to be handled.
These updates are critical as they provide the best protection for eCash holdings. Trezor has released the firmware version 2.8.7 while Electrum ABC version 5.4.0 provides enhanced usability of eCash alongside native eCash support and a high level of security.
