Top Blockchains by Monthly Active Users

Solana ($SOL), Binance Smart Chain ($BNB), Base, Tron ($TRX), and Aptos ($APT) have emerged as the top five blockchains based on monthly active users, according to Token Terminal.

Solana boasts the highest engagement with 97.8 million active users, attributed to its fast transactions, dApps, and the DeFi sector. Binance Smart Chain follows with 3.8 million users, thanks to its low fees and vast dApp selection.

Base, a Layer 2 scaling solution by Coinbase, has 21.5 million users, reflecting the ease of transitioning from centralized to decentralized finance. Tron's $TRX token ranks fourth with 13.3 million users, largely due to its low costs and fast processing speed for dApps, especially in gaming and entertainment.

Aptos ranks fifth with 13.2 million users, driven by faster transactions and its unique consensus protocol.

Other notable blockchains include Bitcoin ($BTC) with 11.5 million users and Ethereum ($ETH) with 7.03 million users. Bitcoin is known for its store-of-value function, while Ethereum's smart contract capabilities contribute to its user base.

The rankings also highlight Layer 2 solutions and scalable alternative blockchain networks, with Polygon ($POL), TON ($TON), and Arbitrum ($ARB) attracting users.

Immutable X ($IMX), Ronin ($RON), Celo ($CELO), Optimism ($OP), and Avalanche ($AVAX) each have over a million active users, showcasing the diverse blockchain landscape and the competition for user attention.
