Token (TSE:1766) Is Increasing Its Dividend To ¥330
Dec 16, 2024 at 08:02 am
Token Corporation (TSE:1766) will be paying its dividend of ¥330.00 on the 29th of July, an increase from last year's comparable dividend.
This will take the annual payment to 2.9% of the stock price, which is above what most companies in the industry pay.
Check out our latest analysis for Token
Token's Projected Earnings Seem Likely To Cover Future Distributions
If the payments aren't sustainable, a high yield for a few years won't matter that much.
However, Token's earnings easily cover the dividend. This means that most of what the business earns is being used to help it grow.
The next year is set to see EPS grow by 8.6%. Assuming the dividend continues along recent trends, we think the payout ratio could be 38% by next year, which is in a pretty sustainable range.
Token Has A Solid Track Record
The company has been paying a dividend for a long time, and it has been quite stable which gives us confidence in the future dividend potential.
Since 2014, the dividend has gone from ¥90.00 total annually to ¥330.00.
This implies that the company grew its distributions at a yearly rate of about 14% over that duration.
So, dividends have been growing pretty quickly, and even more impressively, they haven't experienced any notable falls during this period.
We Could See Token's Dividend Growing
Investors could be attracted to the stock based on the quality of its payment history.
We are encouraged to see that Token has grown earnings per share at 6.7% per year over the past five years.
A low payout ratio and decent growth suggests that the company is reinvesting well, and it also has plenty of room to increase the dividend over time.
We Really Like Token's Dividend
In summary, it is always positive to see the dividend being increased, and we are particularly pleased with its overall sustainability.
Distributions are quite easily covered by earnings, which are also being converted to cash flows.
All in all, this checks a lot of the boxes we look for when choosing an income stock.
Investors generally tend to favour companies with a consistent, stable dividend policy as opposed to those operating an irregular one.
However, there are other things to consider for investors when analysing stock performance.
