Crypto Theft: TICKER Heist Unraveled
Who Stole the TICKER Crypto?
Renowned crypto sleuth ZachXBT has unmasked Jolan Lacroix, a French developer, as the culprit behind the audacious $900,000 TICKER cryptocurrency theft. Lacroix allegedly siphoned off the stolen funds to acquire memecoins and Milady NFTs.
TICKER Presale: A Lucrative Target
The theft plot unfolded when TICKER launched a presale on Base, Coinbase's decentralized exchange platform. On March 16th, the presale raked in a substantial $3.19 million worth of ETH.
Developer's Malicious Intent
Following the Token Generation Event, the TICKER team entrusted Lacroix with 15% of the token supply for airdrop distribution. However, the developer breached their trust, surreptitiously selling 13% of the supply, netting him $900,000.
Money Laundering Trail
Lacroix embarked on an elaborate money laundering scheme, utilizing Orbiter Finance, Mayan Swap, and Allbridge to bridge the stolen ETH across multiple blockchains, including Ethereum and Solana.
Lacroix's Taunting
In a brazen display of arrogance, Lacroix flaunted his ill-gotten gains via three now-deleted X posts. He unabashedly admitted to controlling the stolen funds and expressed no remorse for his actions.
Stolen Funds' Destination
Subsequent investigations by ZachXBT revealed that Lacroix transferred $536,000 of the stolen funds back to Ethereum, where he indulged in a spending spree. He acquired Milady NFTs worth $161,000 and dabbled in various meme coins.
Milady NFT Collection: A Target for Scammers
The Milady NFT collection has become a magnet for nefarious actors. Recently, a hacker compromised the collection's creator, Charlotte Fang, and siphoned millions in ETH from the project's DAO. Moreover, the collection launched a presale for its new meme coin on March 19th, amassing $18.6 million in funding within a mere two hours.
Legal Recourse for Victims
ZachXBT has urged victims of Lacroix's theft to come forward and pursue legal action against the French developer. The crypto investigator has provided comprehensive details about Lacroix, including his Telegram ID, contact number, email address, and more.
