Tether’s earnings have significantly grown along with the rising value of its stablecoin. The total amount of USDT that is currently in use has risen to more than $144 billion

Tether, the largest stablecoin issuer, has seen its earnings increase significantly along with the rising value of its stablecoin.
According to TokenTerminal on Thursday, Tether (USDT) has earned about $1.46 billion so far in 2025, and is expected to pass the $1.5 billion mark soon. This showcases substantial growth compared to its competitors in the crypto space.
The platform's income is much higher than other blockchain platforms like Tron, Circle, Solana, and Ethereum, the data shows further.
While Ethereum was once among the top earners, it has only realized $157 million this year. Circle, the company behind USDC, is planning to go public and has generated $620 million in revenue, and Solana has earned $159 million, partly thanks to the rise of meme tokens. Tron is the closest to reaching $1 billion.
The increase in Teather's income could be linked to its widespread use on global exchanges and the growing demand in developing countries.
In contrast, Ethereum is experiencing a decrease in revenue as more activity shifts to cheaper layer-2 networks, despite still leading in smart contract applications.
The last quarter of 2024 ended with the platform's yearly profit topping $13 billion. The company's total equity also increased, surpassing $20 billion thanks to strategic moves in various domains like clean energy, crypto mining, artificial intelligence, mobile networks, and learning.
Tether has continued to expand in 2025 as more users recognize and utilize stablecoins for greater safety and ease of use. According to Visa data, in April alone, Tether's volume reached $266 billion, and the total transactions for the year already exceed $1.5 trillion.
