Sui (SUI) and Aptos (APT) Could See Their Prices Grow by 4x and 2.9x, Respectively, by the End of 2025
Jan 30, 2025 at 04:38 pm
Analysts see potential for SUI and APT to climb to $16 and $22, respectively, by year-end 2025, driven by increasing adoption, network growth, and improving market sentiment.
Analysts at VanEck have identified Sui (SUI) and Aptos (APT) as two cryptocurrencies with the potential to experience significant price growth in the coming years. In a recent analysis, the firm's senior investment analyst, Patrick Bush, highlighted the strong fundamentals and growing adoption that could drive demand for these tokens.
According to Bush's analysis, SUI and APT could rally by 4x and 2.9x, respectively, by the end of 2025. This would put SUI in the range of $16 and APT around $22, based on their current prices.
Both Sui and Aptos are built on the codebase of Meta's Diem project, which was designed to create a high-throughput, low-cost blockchain for payments and other applications. Sui and Aptos have taken different approaches in building their networks, but they share some similarities, including a focus on speed, scalability, and security.
While both networks are still relatively new and haven't achieved the same level of adoption as established platforms like Ethereum (ETH) or Solana (SOL), Bush noted that Sui could offer a set of technical capabilities and economics that "prove more attractive to market markers."
Data shows that Sui has managed to attract more retail interest compared to Aptos. "In fact, in the last 90 days, global search interest for Sui was higher than it was for Solana on 17 days and higher than Ethereum on 16 days," Bush pointed out.
Another key aspect that distinguishes Sui is its efficiency in trading. According to Bush, Sui's programmable transaction blocks can handle up to 1,024 commands at once, enabling smoother decentralized exchange operations compared to Aptos or Ethereum.
However, both Sui and Aptos still face challenges in terms of fostering a vibrant application ecosystem. "The consequence of the relatively anemic development community of Aptos and Sui is that neither can boast of a truly differentiated, successful application," Bush noted.
Both networks also have different token models, with Sui's token supply capped and Aptos operating an inflationary system with 6.7% annual issuance that declines over time. Additionally, the storage fees on both networks differ, with Sui locking part of its supply permanently to reward validators.
Interestingly, both Sui and Aptos are preparing for large token unlocks in the future. Aptos will release 11.9% ($1.2 billion) of its supply in 2026, while Sui will unlock 7.6% ($3.65 billion), an event that could impact their prices.
VanEck's analysis projects that Sui and Aptos will capture a larger share of the smart contract platform (SCP) market by the end of 2025. The total SCP market capitalization is expected to grow to $1.1 trillion, presenting opportunities for both networks.
Based on past trends and the U.S. money supply, Bush's analysis estimates that Sui will reach a market cap of $61 billion, which would lead to its token price rising to about $16, a 326% increase from current levels.
Similarly, Aptos is expected to hit a market cap of $11 billion by the end of 2025, enabling its token price to reach $22, a 201% gain from where it's now.
