The newly launched fitness tracking app StepMania is now available through the popular messaging app Telegram.
A newly launched fitness tracking application called StepMania is now available on the popular messaging platform Telegram.
The StepMania development team has announced plans to launch a blockchain-based token on The Open Network (TON). This token will enable users to earn, trade, and manage blockchain assets directly within the Telegram platform.
This move aligns with Telegram's recent crypto integration policies, which require all crypto-related mini-apps to launch their tokens on TON.
StepMania employs a Tap-to-earn (or move-to-earn) mechanism, encouraging users to engage in physical activity and converting their daily steps into in-game tokens and raffle tickets.
These tokens can be used to participate in prize draws for real-world rewards, including smartphones, gaming consoles (such as the iPhone 16 Pro and PlayStation 5), fitness trackers, and other gadgets.
While the concept may resemble STEPN, StepMania is designed to be more accessible for everyday users by not requiring the purchase of NFTs to begin earning.
The application fosters a community by hosting leaderboard competitions, squad challenges, and tournaments led by influencers, where fitness enthusiasts can connect, compete, and support each other.
The project is supported by The Open Platform (TOP), a venture builder in the TON blockchain domain. StepMania aims to expand its ecosystem over the next few months through strategic partnerships with TON-based projects, brands, event organizers, and wearable technology companies.
