This move allows Malaysians to invest in the two largest cryptocurrencies through a regulated and trusted platform.
Malaysian digital investment platform StashAway has added Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) ETFs to its platform, allowing Malaysians to invest in the two largest cryptocurrencies through a regulated and trusted platform.
StashAway will be adding the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund and the Fidelity Ethereum Fund to its platform. The launch comes at a time of growing institutional adoption of crypto, as the price of BTC surpasses US$100,000 and the new US Presidential administration signals support for crypto-friendly regulations.
Investors have shown renewed interest in this emerging asset class, and StashAway’s addition of BTC and ETH ETFs to its Flexible Portfolios enables investors to easily and securely incorporate crypto into their portfolios.
Flexible Portfolios offer a diverse range of over 70 ETFs representing different asset classes, allowing clients to build customised portfolios that align with their risk tolerance and financial goals.
StashAway’s fee structure is transparent and straightforward, with no lock-ins or minimum investment required. Flexible Portfolios have a management fee that ranges from 0.2% to 0.8% per annum, while portfolios with only a single ETF have a flat management fee of 0.3% per annum. The crypto ETFs available on Flexible Portfolios have an expense ratio of 0.25% p.a.
Launched in 2017, StashAway expanded to Malaysia in 2018 and was awarded a Capital Markets Services license by the Securities Commission of Malaysia. The company reportedly manages over RM 1 billion in assets under management for over 50,000 clients in Malaysia.
“Many of our clients have expressed interest in the long-term potential of major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin but have been hesitant because of security concerns or the complexities of navigating crypto exchanges.
We’re now offering them a familiar and safe way to diversify their portfolios by incorporating crypto through a platform they already know and trust,” said Wong Wai Ken, Country Manager, StashAway Malaysia.
