Solana Wins the Most Popular Blockchain Title in 2024, Holding 38% of Global Crypto Investor Interest

The high interest in Solana's blockchain could be attributed to the resurgence in meme coin popularity and the launch of its meme coin launch pad, Pump.fun.

Solana Wins the Most Popular Blockchain Title in 2024, Holding 38% of Global Crypto Investor Interest

Solana has been crowned the most popular blockchain of 2024, capturing a remarkable 38% of global crypto investor interest, as reported by Coingecko. This surging interest is largely attributed to the resurgence of meme coins and the launch of Solana's meme coin launch pad, Pump.fun.

Solana's blockchain has consistently ranked highest in crypto investor interest throughout the year, maintaining its lead since Q1. This interest is further fueled by the launch of Solana's meme coin launch pad, Pump.fun, in January.

Pump.fun has deployed over 2.5 million unique tokens and gained popularity within the meme coin community for its low transaction costs.Solana's popularity levels have seen a slight decline from Q1, with a 10.5% decrease in interest. Despite this decline, Solana remains the top blockchain network, as others compete for investors' attention.

Coinbase's Base ecosystem has garnered significant interest in 2024, trailing Solana with 16.8% interest levels, a surge of over five times since Q1. The ecosystem has benefited from its meme coin trading, much like Solana.

The Ethereum ecosystem ranks third with a 10.8% share of investor interest, although its popularity levels have declined by nearly 2%.

Solana's Pump.fun platform welcomed a new trading terminal in October

Solana launched its upgraded trading terminal on Pump.fun, called Pump Advanced, on October 19. The new platform is now touted as their "fastest trading terminal," and it even offers non-custodial wallet creation through emails.

Solana highlighted in one of their posts on X that Pump Advanced includes more monitoring features, such as mini charts, top-holder stats, and social activity. "It's time to dominate the trenches," they stated with the launch.

The launch of this upgraded terminal is expected to drive further user adoption on Pump.fun, signaling heightened interest in Solana's blockchain.

The token SOL on Solana's blockchain has also been one of the top performers in the crypto market over the last 24 hours, surging by over 9% to reach $243. This price increase is partially fueled by comments from VanEck executives regarding the potential approval of spot Solana exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States, which has sparked optimism among investors.

To elaborate, Matthew Sigel, head of digital asset research at VanEck, expressed his belief that the odds of Solana's ETF listing before 2025's end are very high, pointing to Donald Trump's election victory as a signal for more crypto products.
